Get in losers, we're going back to the 60s! I had the most wonderful, yet darkly weirdest time watching the first season of The Umbrella Academy. Knowing that they didn't escape their apocalyptic problems made me excited for this to drop. Let's just say – this season did NOT disappoint! Following immediately after escaping the apocalypse in their original, present time, Five transports him and his siblings to safety... which is apparently in 1960s Dallas. Unfortunately, all the siblings end up separated over several years differences. They all also believe they are the sole sibling who survived transportation. They have made new lives and seemingly moved on from their original past as the Umbrella Academy. However, they didn't prevent the apocalypse... they only brought it back with them in the 1960s. Now Five must find and bring his siblings back together to once again save the world. This season is absolute Chaos in all its forms. If I thought the first season was wild enough for me, I clearly didn't know what was in store for me in this new season. I won't spoil it too much, but please know that I was internally screaming by the end of each episode. It was entertaining from the first second to its last. I'm going to say it – this season is a million times better than the first. Or at least I think so, and I'm not afraid of saying it. I have no regrets (okay, maybe SOME) of binging this straight in one sitting. Without giving so much away, all the issues I had from the first season were solved here. The pacing was fixed, the music fit the mood better, and we actually felt more connected to the siblings. Now we can focus on the plot rather than build a foundation for us to learn. The thing I loved the most from this season was the fact we got closer to the siblings. Of course, I still wanted to yell at them for how dysfunctional they always are. We really get a glimpse of what each Hargreeve sibling would be like had they lived a 'normal' life outside the Umbrella Academy. They thrived at normalcy, but obviously, they were so much better as a team. It was somehow both heart-warming and heart-breaking to watch their transformations become more solid this time. Every bit of craziness leads to that plot twist in the final episode cliffhanger. Before you ask – yes, you will scream or want to throw something after you're done. All because of the sole audacity the writers did by leaving it like that for us. I have no idea how, but it sets up perfectly for a season 3 with apocalyptic-level of problems.
Yeah, I did binge this all in record time. What about it?
