The Child. That's it. Send text. I have long since heard how good this show is and I've put it off long enough. I finally had to know if my real-life obsession with baby Yoda, formally known as The Child, is true. The Mandalorian takes place roughly five years after the Return of the Jedi. The New Republic has not been established yet either. It follows the adventures of a lone bounty hunter known as a Mandalorian. He travels from planet to planet looking for jobs when he gets hired to retrieve a vital asset - the Child. When the Mandalorian refuses to turn in the Child, he travels across the galaxy to protect it and others from harm. If you're a fan of Star Wars anything, then you'll love this. Jon Favreau treated this installation with care and intention. I believe there was enough old and new that would keep you interested in a series like this one. The adventures of the Mandalorian are something we're all familiar with previous versions of the Star Wars universe. There are no epic battles like we've seen in other installments, but each episode is still action-packed enough to keep you hooked. Every episode ties into the development of the Mandalorian, which helps considering for most of the series he is nameless and faceless. Whether he's teaching farmers to fight to save their village to tracking a rogue assassin, his adventures are never dull enough to make you want to stop watching. Now let's get to the real reason why we're here: The Child. The best part of this series is the overarching theme of parenthood brought to us by our friendly galaxyhood Mandalorian and The Child. It's no surprise that the Mandalorian begins a bond after finding it and decides to let it tag along for the ride. You would think the Child would bog him down or even make him softer, but actually, it helps build depth to The Mandalorian. He is still gruff, serious, with a penchant for violence to solve his problems, but now he's the only father figure The Child has ever known. Other series would be stunted by this. But The Child is more than cute - it's helpful in many situations. This actually enhances the episodes rather than get bogged down by its narrative. Star Wars is something we'll always have around, and I don't see it ending any time soon. This was a great way to keep the love alive among fans who have a lifelong dedication to the franchise. I literally cannot wait for the second season to see what else the Mandalorian can get up to, but more importantly, to see The Child again in all its cuteness.
This is now a baby Yoda, aka The Child, stan account now and forever.
