*gasps in Spanish even louder* I know I've been saying this show is incredibly wild, but seriously this season took it to new levels of insanity. Season 3 of Elite begins the most unexpected year for Las Encinas and its students. Everyone is trying to figure out their future in their last year at the elite high school... Also, Polo decided to come back to attend classes after confessing to murdering Marina in season 1. To say tensions are high is quite literally an understatement. As the students try to make life-changing decisions on who and what they want to be when they leave Las Encinas, another tragedy strikes once again to rock their world. Now when I saw the trailer for this new season, I was actually shaken a little when they revealed who died this season. Naturally, I had to be super curious about why Netflix would want to do this because wasn't this the most obvious route after season 2? I almost was afraid this would ruin the magic of Elite. (Spoiler: it didn't. Not. One. Bit.) What used to be rich versus poor has now changed into good versus bad. Now that everyone (at the ones who matter) knows that Polo killed Marina, the lines in the sand are drawn. You almost couldn't be shocked along with the others that Polo was allowed to come back to school - among a criminal investigation no less. (The discussion of privilege is for a later time.) Like the last two seasons, the chaos and the intertwining lives of these teens showed none of them are perfect. Despite my first impressions of this season possibly going too predictable, it actually didn't. The mystery was pulled back slowly to lead up to the murder by giving our current cast of characters even more depth. They had moments where I sympathized with Polo. Please read that sentence again because even I'm shocked about it too. I think what got me the most was getting to see who actually did the murder. I would've picked a lot of people, but this particular person was not even in my top two. That should've been my first clue. This show ended with school year over and starting a new one beginning at Las Encinas. Time flies when people die and stuff, right? Or I guess time flies when you're having sex, doing drugs, partying, love triangle drama, cyberbullying, and more! I know this show has already been renewed for a fourth AND fifth season. This leads me to wonder so many questions about where this can go. Does that mean more new characters? What is Las Encinas going to be like now? Is Ander going to recover? Is there going to be more murder and intrigue? More importantly, are the ones who graduated going to come back?
I need answers ASAP.
