I personally volunteer to travel around the world with Zac and Darin for now and forever. I felt like I was a kid again because Zac Efron is back and better than ever. My childhood crush came back in full force, and I have no shame in that. Down to Earth with Zac Efron makes us, well... go down to earth with Zac Efron. This documentary follows famous actor Zac Efron and health and wellness author Darin Olien around the world researching themselves about how to make our planet better. They go everywhere from Iceland to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The duo learns how different countries and local communities doing sustainable solutions to help the continuous environmental changes around the world. In the middle of learning, Zac and Darin take the time to learn about the culture, eat some good food, and other cool attractions every place has to offer. So when the trailer dropped for this, I had so many questions. The first being: why did Netflix keep this a secret for so long? Anyway, I was pretty pumped to dive into this. I want to say this documentary made an effort. By that, I mean, Zac and Darin attempt to have conversations about the importance of environmentalism and handled the local resources we have. People are learning to approach their projects in a way so humans can't affect the environment negatively. Zac and Darin keep it lighthearted by asking manageable questions then make the appropriate commentary when needed. An effort was noticeably seen and noted. However, there are times where you are left wanting more – or I did, at least. I wished the conversations to go deeper. I appreciated they kept the conversations accessible for anyone and everyone to understand. It was positive, and I hope it moved enough people to think about the ways they can help keep our planet alive. With that said, some conversations came off superficial. I'm also not sure how official Darin's opinions are. He's not technically a doctor, so a lot of his advice and discussion points aren't based on science or facts. The documentary itself is enjoyable and entertaining. Zac has improved in a way where he's happy now. That's something we're all into. If there's anything this documentary proved, Zac is a natural in front of the camera. I'm not sure if this project has a future (yet), but if it means we get more of him, then I'm game.
I also cry when I eat carbs, but that's beside the point.
